WordPress is suppose to send an email when a new comment is left on your blog (as long as you have this option enabled).

You can change these options from the Settings > Discussion page:

E-mail me whenever:

• Anyone posts a comment
• A comment is held for moderation

The problem I was having is that I would never receive the email. I tried several email addresses including a GMail and Hosted GMail address.

The fix for me was a plugin named Comments Notifier.

Comments Notifier was designed for blogs that have more than one moderater or getting comment notifications at more than one email address. However, with the plugin installed, I now receive comment notifications at my GMail address (still not at my hosted GMail address though).

If you are not receiving notifications of new email addresses, try installing this plugin.

I (finally) updated my blog to WordPress 3.3.2 and am really excited about this update becuase it includes drag and drop media support! 

Adding photos or other files to posts and pages just got easier. Drag files from your desktop and drop them into the uploader. Add one file at a time, or many at once.

They have also streamedlined things and once your file is uploaded, the appropriate fields will be displayed for entering information based on the file type.

The update includes a bunch of other goodies so update your blog if you haven’t yet.

There is no shortage of good calendar apps for the iPhone. But I now have a new favorite, it’s called Calendars – Google Calendar client.

Why is it my favorite? Three simple words; Drag and Drop.

I use Google Calendar for all of my appointments and Google Tasks and Remember The Milk for my tasks. Calendars app syncs with both Google Calendar and Google Tasks. And did I mention it supports drag and drop?

I have only been using the app for a day but the calendar portion of the app is beautiful, it’s easy to use, is syncs all of my calendars, and I love being able to easily swith between my calendar and tasks.

The only downside is that the app costs $6.99. I rarely buy any apps and think I have only bought 1 or 2 apps for more than $1 but so far Calendars has been well worth the $7.

You can search for events by name in the List view. Tapping on the status bar will show you a search field.

Today, there are numerous free resources anyone can use to learn to code. One of my favorite is CodeYear.

This is the exact reason why I wanted to learn to code, to be able to create something from scratch. Image the days before computers, if you wanted to make something, it would have to be built or fabricated from wood, metal or some other material. Today, almost anyone can easily create whatever they can dream up.

Google+ has updated their iPhone app and it looks amazing.

The new app design is a stunning departure from the previous Google+ app and from the Google+ site interface itself. Released on May 9, it turns the act of scanning social media updates into a highly visual experience by combining a slick rendering of your avatar with the signature image of whatever you’re posting and then overlaying the first two lines of your text. The effect is quite appealing, and addicting. 

AJ Batac has created a simple bookmarklet for Google+. It works on any web browser as well as from an iPhone or iPad.
